Where do the leaves in the tea bags come from?
Our tea leaves for Tejava Pyramid tea bags are sourced from the same Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms that grow our tea leaves for our ready-to-drink tea on the island of Java in Indonesia.
What makes Tejava tea leaves so special?
We hand-pick the top leaves during the peak growing season to deliver our distinctively balanced, bold yet smooth cup of black tea.
How much caffeine is in one tea bag?
Depending on steeping time, caffeine can vary from cup to cup. A typical 8-ounce cup of brewed black tea contains approximately 47mg of caffeine. Tejava ready-to-drink tea contains 33mg of caffeine in a 12-ounce serving. It is safe to assume a brewed cup at home would contain somewhere between 33 and 50mg of caffeine.
What is the shelf life of the Tejava Pyramid Tea Bags?
Tejava Pyramid Tea Bags are individually packaged in foil envelopes that seal in freshness. Unopened, the tea should maintain freshness for 2 years. We recommend storing in a dry, cool place for optimum freshness.
What is the best way to make tea with Tejava Pyramid tea bags?
Fill your tea kettle with fresh water. Heat water to approximately 195 – 212 degrees. Warm your teapot or mug with the hot water – dump it out. Add your tea bag(s) and add 8 ounces of water to your mug or teapot. Let steep for 3-5 minutes, remove tea bag, and enjoy!
Are Tejava Tea Bags recyclable or compostable?
Our tea bags are 100% biodegradable however, the string and staple are not. Please dispose of them responsibly.
